MEN IN MISSION: AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SERVICE STEWARDSHIP

Men in Mission was organized several years ago by Glenn Ethridge to harness the potential power of a group of men who meet weekly, have breakfast, a devotional, enjoy fellowship and plan mission project that the members can accomplish. Our projects range from:

  • Wesley Church Jobs such as routine painting, landscaping and work on the playground, BBQ shed, the yard sales and memorial garden (which was incidentally conceived and designed by a MIM member, John Kirkland).
  • Local Projects such as handicap ramps, miscellaneous chores such as grass cutting and general house maintenance jobs for those that have fallen behind for various reasons.
  • Helping with Larger Wesley Mission Projects such as the health clinic (headed by Al Lightsey), Honduras, the Pham and Stokes houses, Katrina Cleanup in Mississippi, Matthews tornado cleanup, and recently a new effort supporting the Methodist sponsored Epworth Children’s home in Columbia, SC.

We are blessed to have some very talented members with sufficient skills to support our projects without everyone needing to be an expert to get the job done.

With rare exceptions about 20 of us meet year round every Tuesday morning at the church for breakfast at 7:00am and plan to be done by 8:00am so those with jobs and other plans can make their appointments.

Men, if you are interested, we invite you to have breakfast with us at 7:00am on Tuesday at the Church.
